Full spectrum, Chinese skullcap root with added bioactive Baicalin extract to support healthy endogenous and exogenous cellular, immune response, gut microbiome, neuroprotection, and inflammation.

Chinese Skullcap supports the linings of blood vessels and aids in robust immune system response and balanced cytokine production.

Baicalin is a bioflavonoid extract from Chinese Skullcap that provides potent immune cell function support.

Most of the studies done on skullcap have examined Chinese skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis ). Native to China and parts of Russia, baicalensis skullcap has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat allergies, infections, inflammation, cancer, and headaches. It may also have antifungal and antiviral effects. Herbs exposure to virus equates to millions of years.

The major components of Scutellariae Radix are baicalin, baicalein, wogonoside and wogonin. Accumulating evidence demonstrates that Scutellaria has immunomodulatory effects and possesses compelling anticancer potential. Orzechowska B, Chaber R, Wiśniewska A, Pajtasz-Piasecka E, Jatczak B, Siemieniec I, Gulanowski B, Chybicka A, Błach-Olszewska Z. Baicalin from the extract of Scutellaria baicalensis affects the innate immunity and apoptosis in leukocytes of children with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Why have we added the Baicalin extract to the full spectrum Chinese skullcap? Royal Lee food contained things known and unknown. More so with botanicals flavonoids: Wogonin, Baicalein and Baicalin.

These phytochemicals are not only cytostatic but also cytotoxic to various human tumor cell lines in vitro and inhibit tumor growth in vivo.

Most importantly, they show almost no or minor toxicity to normal epithelial and normal peripheral blood and myeloid cells. The antitumor functions of these flavones are largely due to their abilities to scavenge oxidative radicals, to attenuate NF-kappaB activity, to inhibit several genes important for regulation of the cell cycle, to suppress COX-2 gene expression and to prevent viral infection.

Chinese physicians are known to have used the root, called huang qin, for bronchial inflammation, antibacterial purposes, as a diuretic, an antispasmodic and to help with bile flow.

There are several varieties of skullcap (over 350!) of which many are contaminated and/or are extremely substandard and unacceptable for healing applications. Also note: varieties not interchangeable in their medical applications. For example: Chinese Skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis) is known for its broad -spectrum antiviral properties. It inhibits viral replication, suppresses viral gene expression, inhibits/ reduces cytokine cascades, and has many other viricidal actions.
